ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Illinois women's golf finished the first day of the Wolverine Invitational in fifth place after carding a team total of 587 (+19) through 36 holes.
Brielle Mapanao led the way with a 74 (+3) first round score and a 71 (E) in the second round. She heads into the final day tied for ninth on the individual leaderboard.Â
Anna Ritter followed closely with a 71 (E) first round and a 75 (+4) in the second. Ritter is in 13th heading into the final day only a stroke behind her teammate.Â
Freshman Alexis Myers made her debut for the Orange and Blue with a first round hole-in-one on hole eight. She finished the round with a 74 (+3) and had a second round mark of 73 (+2).
Erica Lee is tied for 27th following a first round of 76 (+5) and a second round of 73 (+2). Victoria Zheng is tied for 55th after posting a 76 (+5) first round and 78 (+7) second round score.
Tavia Burgess, competing as an individual, is tied for 69th after a first round of 80 (+9) and a second of 78 (+7).
The Fighting Illini will be back in action on Monday with the third and final round, which will be a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. CT.Â
