MADISON, Wis. - The Fighting Illini are headed to America's Dairyland to compete at the Badger Invitational at University Ridge Golf Course. The tournament will be held from Sept. 14-16.
THE SETTING
Illinois returns to the Badger Invitational for the first time in 17 years. University Ridge Golf Course was originally constructed in 1991 and designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Jones Jr. is a renowned architect who, along with his father, has helped design over 400 courses worldwide. In addition to hosting collegiate events, the University Ridge Golf Course is also the home of the boys' and girls' WIAA state golf championships. The course is set up for a par 72 and 6,297 yards.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
This 54-hole stroke-play event will feature 18 holes on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, respectively. Tee times on Sunday and Monday start at 9Â a.m. CT, with the final round shotgun on Tuesday also set for a 9Â a.m. CT start.
THE FIELD
Along with the Illini, this 14-team field features Wisconsin, Iowa, Denver, Washington State, Delaware, Sam Houston, St. Thomas, South Dakota State, Colorado State, Western Kentucky, Bradley, Western Michigan, and Green Bay.

ILLINI AT THE BADGER INVITATIONAL
This will be the 12th time the Illini have played at the Badger Invitational, formerly known as the Lady Badger Invitational. Most recently, the Illini finished ninth in 2008. The Orange and Blue's best finish at this event was first in 1982. Â
