ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Fighting Illini are headed to the Mitten State to compete at the Wolverine Invitational at the University of Michigan Golf Course. The tournament will be held from Sunday, Sept. 7, to Monday, Sept. 8.
THE SETTING
For the first time since 2022, Michigan is hosting a home meet. The University of Michigan Golf Course was originally constructed in 1931 and designed by Alister MacKenzie. MacKenzie was a renowned architect who famously designed the original Augusta National course. U-M Golf Course will also be home to one of the six NCAA regional courses in the spring. The course is set up for a par 71 and 6,227 yards.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
This 54-hole stroke play event will feature 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. The best four performances will count towards a team's score. Sunday begins with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. CT, and Monday follows the same pattern, with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. CT.
THE FIELD
Along with the Illini, this 15-team event features Chattanooga, Florida International, Indiana, Iowa State, Kennesaw State, Kent State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oakland, Purdue, Rutgers, South Florida, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

ILLINI AT THE WOLVERINE INVITATIONAL
This will be the fourth time the Illini have played at the Wolverine Invitational. Most recently, the Illini finished fifth in 2021. The Orange and Blue's best finish at this event was a tie for third in 2012.
