SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Illinois men's and women's cross country teams finished the Joe Piane Invite on Friday (Oct. 3) from the Burke Golf Course. Nora Wollen (16:43.5) and Avril Andre (16:44.4) each set program top-5 times in the 5k being third and fourth, respectively, now in the record book while Adam Patel ran the program's fourth fastest 8k (23:43.0).
Wollen paced the Orange and Blue women's squad finishing in 19th place, while Andre was right behind in 20th place. Mireya Bugeja completed the women's top-3 finishers on a time of 17:35.9 which placed her 103rd. As a team the women finished 12th out of 20 teams with 353 points.
On the men's side, Patel led the way finishing in 35th place. Joshua Daggett clocked a time of 23:51.9 to finish in 46th while Jackson Barrett finished in 61st to round out the men's top-3 finishers (24:04.6). The men's team finished in 12th place out of 18 teams with 306 points.
