SUNSET, S.C. – The Illinois women's golf team earned its second runner-up finish in its last three tournaments with a 28-over par tournament total of 892 at the Clemson Invitational after posting the low round of the day with a two-over 290 on the par 72, 6,386-yard Reserve at Lake Keowee golf course on Sunday (March 27).
The Illini were just one stroke off tournament champion LSU, who posted a 27-over par 54-hole total of 891 and also took home individual medalist honors as the Tigers' Ingrid Lindblad posted a four-under par total of 212. Â Â
Freshman Lexanne Halama turned in a career-best finish as she tied for 10th with a seven-over 223 total after carding an even-par 72 in her final round. It was the first top-10 finish of her career. Â
Sophomore Isabel Sy continued her strong spring play as she tied for 15th with an eight-over total of 224 after recording a one-over 73 on the final day, while senior Kornkamol Sukaree and junior Siyan Chen each tied for 19th with a nine-over tournament total of 225. Sukaree registered a team-low two-under 70 in her final round, while Chen carded a six-over 78 on Sunday.
Senior Crystal Wang posted a three-over 75 in her third round to finish with a 15-over total of 231 to tie for 44th.
Rounding out the Illini was freshman Alise Knudson, who turned in a 11-over 83 in her final round and finished with a tournament total of 257 (+41).

The Illini next head to Columbus, Ohio for their final tournament of the regular season with the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational, hosted by Ohio Stzate on April 15-16.
