GLENDALE, Calif. — Illinois women's golf finished the second round of the Big Ten Championships on Saturday evening. Low scorer Anna Ritter sits in a three-way tie for third, while Illinois is tied for fourth as a team, alongside Michigan State.
Of the team, Brielle Mapanao fired off the best score in round two, a 71 (+1), moving her into a tie for 21stplace. She has carded a 144 (+4) through two days of play.
Ritter notched a 74 (+4) on the day, with four birdies and six pars. She is four strokes off leader Bailey Shoemaker of USC and through two rounds has tallied the most birdies of the field, with 11.
Freshman Alexis Myers and senior Victoria Zheng each registered a 72 (+2) in the second round. Myers sits tied for 15th, while Zheng is tied for 24th.
Erica Lee is tied for 64th, after carding a 79 (+9) on Saturday.
Illinois has earned a 571 (+11) through two rounds, tied with Michigan State for fourth, and four strokes off Purdue and Ohio State who sit tied for second. The Orange and Blue are 15 strokes off leader USC.
The Fighting Illini will conclude the Big Ten Championships tomorrow, Sunday, April 26, beginning at 10:50 a.m. CT, when Lee tees off from hole one.
