CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illini men's and women's cross country teams were back at home for the final meet of the regular season. The women placed second out of seven teams, led by junior Tracey Towns who placed sixth overall (18:23.5). The men placed fourth out of four teams, led by sophomore Evan Cummins who placed 18th overall (25:55.9).
Four Illini women placed in the top-25: senior Katie Hohe (19:07.2), sophomore Amalia Malecek (19:13.4), sophomore Lydia Malecek (19:14.4) and junior Breena Shreeves (19:16). Two Illini men finished in the top-25: senior Edwin Siuda (26:19.1) and junior Will Giblin (26:25.5)
Senior Eddie Lennon made his 2022 debut and placed 34th (27:14.1).

The Illini cross teams will make the trip up to Ann Arbor for the Big Ten Championships on Friday, October 28. The women's 6k race will be at 9:45 a.m. and the men's 8k will be at 10:45 a.m. CT.
