CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The annual University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics 2020 Academic and Achievement Dinner was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic that ended the 2019-20 athletic seasons early. However, we still will celebrate the academic achievements of Fighting Illini student-athletes.
"While we are certainly disappointed that we aren't able to celebrate in person, it is important component of our mission to recognize these 108 student-athletes for their extraordinary academic achievements over the course of the past academic year and we are unapologetically proud of them. These 108 student-athletes represent our best and brightest in all facets of academic life at the University of Illinois. These individuals have taken advantage of the opportunity to receive a world-class education at the highest level and we applaud them for their individual academic accomplishments while maintaining a difficult balance of competing at the highest level athletically wearing the Orange and Blue." - Dr. Brian Russell, Associate Athletic Director of Academic Services and Student-Athlete Development

Chi Alpha Sigma is a National College Athlete Honor Society established to recognize collegiate student-athletes who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full time semester, and maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.4.
