Kannon Webster closed out the season with a standout performance at the NCAA Wrestling Championships, earning All-America honors for the first time in his career with a fifth-place finish at 157 pounds. The redshirt sophomore went 5-2 at the NCAA Championships, highlighted by an upset victory over [3] Meyer Shapiro of Cornell as part of his run to fifth place.
Webster finished the season 25-6 overall with a 12-3 mark in dual action, leading the team with seven technical falls and totaling 50 dual points, the second-most on the team. He also secured a bronze medal at the Big Ten Championships.
Webster, a redshirt sophomore from Toulon, Illinois, is majoring in Agriculture & Consumer Economics with a concentration in Agribusiness Markets & Management, along with a minor in Environmental Economics and the Law at the University of Illinois.
