Kennedy Ocansey | Fr., Men's Track & Field | Majors: Recreation, Sport and Tourism

Kennedy Ocansey brings his best to every environment he steps into. In the classroom, he is focused and dependable, and that same drive was on full display at the Big Ten Indoor Championships this past weekend. Ocansey captured the high jump title, matching his personal-best jump of 2.18m (7-1 3/4) to earn Big Ten Indoor Champion honors, becoming the first Illini man to win the indoor high jump since Jonathan Wells in 2017 and just the ninth athlete in program history to claim gold indoors.

A freshman from Ghana, Ocansey is majoring in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism at the University of Illinois.
