LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Saturday's NCAA Cross Country Championships race times have been moved up one hour and forty-five minutes from their original starting time due to the impending weather in the area on Saturday. The women's race has been moved to 8 a.m. central time, 9 a.m. locally, followed by the men's race at 9 a.m. central time. The course will open to the public at 7:30 a.m. eastern time.
Illinois' Jon Davis will represent the Illini on the men's side following his Midwest Regional victory last weekend in Ames, Iowa.The Fithian, Illinois native will be making his second straight appearance at NCAA Cross Country Championships after placing 80th overall, and fifth among freshmen, last season.
On Tuesday, Davis was named the 2017 USTFCCCA Midwest Region Athlete of the Year. It's the second time an Illinois men's athlete has won the award joining Hoerr after his 2007 regional title.
