Tyson Invitational Final Results

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Illinois women's track and field team closed out competition at the Tyson Invitational on Saturday. Senior Chantelle Groenewoud notched a personal-best time of 9:40.62 in the 3,000m invitational to finish fourth while senior Elizabeth Boyle crossed the finish line a second later at 9:41.56 in fifth place. In the college section of the 3,000m, sophomore Courtney Yaeger timed a personal-best mark (10:00.95) by nearly 23 seconds to take third.

In the 200m, sophomore Kayla Smith (24.20) and junior Ashley Kelly (24.28) each ran personal bests to finish in the top-30 out of nearly 100 competitors. Illinois' 4x400m relay squad of junior Ryisha Boyd, Kelly, senior Melissa Bates and freshman Marissa Golliday timed a season-best 3:40.15 to finish 14th. Kelly clocked the fastest Orange and Blue split with a time of 53.71.

A full list of Illini results from Saturday can be found below. Illinois will be off next weekend before heading to West Lafayette, Ind., for the Big Ten Championships on Feb. 26-27.
