GAINESVILLE, Fla. // Winston-Salem, N.C. – The men's and women's track and field teams finished the first day of the Wake Forest Invitational and Tom Jones Memorial Invitational on Thursday (April 16).
In Gainesville, JaiCieonna Gero-Holt and Meagan Humphries each completed the first four events of their heptathlons today at the Tom Jones Memorial Invite. Gero-Holt leads with 3,677 points while Humphries sits in second place with 3,535 points.
Gero-Holt won two events today being the high jump and shot put and recorded a top-10 program mark in both. First, she cleared the program's fourth best mark in the high jump at 1.84m (6-0 1/2) and then threw the school's 10th best shot put a few moments later, 14.18m (46-6 1/4). Humphries won two events as well, but hers were on the track in the 100m hurdles (13.70) and the 200m (23.60).
At Wake Forest, Kennady Anderson clocked the program's seventh-fastest 3000m steeplechase (10:18.80) as she won her section and Pol Molins ran a new personal-best time of 1:50.43 in the 800m.
