Illinois Track and Field Announces 2027 Schedule

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois track and field team released their schedule for the 2027 season, director of track, field, and cross country Petros Kyprianou announced on Friday (Sept. 4). The Illini will host two meets in 2026, one during the indoor season and one during the outdoor season.
The 2027 indoor season begins on Jan. 15 at the UI Armory for the Illini Open before the team heads to Arkansas for the Razorback Invite (Jan. 29-30). The Illini will then travel to Indianapolis for the Fairgrounds Invitational (Feb. 5-6) before returning to Arkansas for the Tyson Invitational (Feb. 12-13).
The Big Ten Indoor Championships returns to the Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis on Feb. 25-27. The NCAA Indoor Championships follow in Fayetteville, Ark. on March 12-13.
The Illini will spend much of the 2027 outdoor season on the road. The outdoor season opens on April 2-3 in Tucson, Ariz. for the Jim Click Invitational. On April 14-15, The Illini combined events crew heads to Jacksonville, Fla. for the UNF Invitational at Hodges Stadium before the distance crew continues to the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. (April 15-16). The rest of the team that weekend returns to Florida for the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville on April 16-17 before taking a trip to Baton Rouge, La. for the LSU Invite on May 1.
The Illini's lone home outdoor meet comes on May 7-8 with the fifth-annual Gary Wieneke Memorial at Demirijan Park.
The Big Ten Outdoor Championships are May 14-16 in Eugene, Ore. and the NCAA West Preliminaries are back in College Station, Texas on May 26-29. The season comes to an end with the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. on June 9-12.
