The women's race will kick off the Championship festivities at 10:45
a.m. The schools will be running a 5,000 meter race and the defending
Big
Ten Champion Wisconsin Badgers will be looking to repeat. The Badgers
also
boast the defending individual champion, as senior Erica Palmer claimed
last
season's title in a time of 16:44.
The men's 8,000-meter race will begin at 11:30 a.m. The Wisconsin
Badgers will be looking for their third conference title in as many
tries as
they claimed the 2000 championship by 36 points over the runner up
Indiana
Hoosiers. Wisconsin's Jason Vanderhoof claimed the 2000 title in a time
of
24:01, but was lost to graduation after last season. Now a host of
talented
runners from across the conference will be looking to take his place on
Sunday.
