Huff Hall houses one of the richest volleyball traditions in the nation. Fighting Illini volleyball fans have been stuffing Huff in bunches, with an average attendance over 3,000 fans per match for the last several years, including a record sellout crowd of 4,536 in 2014. The team has responded on the court as well, earning four Big Ten titles, three NCAA Final Four berths, and several top-10 finishes.

Spike Squad is the student section for Illini volleyball matches. For over 25 years, students have filled the bleachers of the southwest corner at Huff Hall to cheer on the Illini. Touted by some as the best volleyball student section in the nation, Spike Squad has earned accolades not only for their performance at home matches, but also for taking the show on the road and cheering on the Illini away from Champaign.
