CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois men's and women's track teams are prepared to run the distance medley relay (DMR) at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind. on Saturday (Feb. 22).
The men's DMR team consist of Nicolas Dovalovsky, Jackson Gilbert, Tadeas Placek and Will Merrick. Merrick set the school record 1000m (2:22.72) and Dovalovsky ran the second-fastest 1000m (2:22.74) earlier at the Fighting Illini Challenge and Combined Events. While Gilbert ran the program's eighth-fastest 400m (46.64) and Placek ran the program's 10th-fastest 800m (1:48.92) last week at the Tyson Invitational.
The women's DMR team will be Halle Hill, Azariyah Bryant, Sam Poglitsch and Kennady Anderson. Hill also broke the school record 1000m (2:44.22) at the Fighting Illini Challenge and Combined Events, Poglitsch ran the program's fourth-fastest time (2:49.28). Hill also broke the school record in the mile (4:32.86) at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational last weekend.
