WALNUT, Calif. – Junior Aiden Ouimet set a new personal-best 400m (49.47) to finish out day one of competition for the Illini at the Mount SAC Relays on Wednesday, April 12. Volunteer assistant coach Ken Mullings (competing unattached) won the high jump with a 2.07m (6-9 1/2) hop.
Both Mullings and Ouimet were the only athletes from the track and field teams to compete in day one. Mullings currently sits in fourth place with 4,336 points; Ouimet stands in 13th place with 3,816 points.
Ouimet claimed eleventh in the long jump on a 6.95m (22-9 3/4) leap before he tied for twelfth in the high jump, 1.86m (6-1 1/4). Mullings earned silver in the shot put with a 15.09m (49-6 1/4) heave directly after his fifth place finish in the 100m dash (10.59).

Illinois track and field begins more action from Mt. SAC tomorrow, April 13 with a few more athletes competing. Ouimet and Mullings resume the decathlon at 1 p.m., redshirt junior Ayah Aldadah competes in the college division 3000m steeplechase (7 p.m.) while grad student Emma Milburn is in the elite division (9 p.m.).
Junior Tyler Cushing competes in the elite division for the 10,000m (11:40 p.m.) while redshirt junior Colin Yandel is in the college division (12:10 a.m.).
Senior Danni Stoughton begins her heptathlon the Bryan Clay Invitational at 11:30 a.m. CT.
