CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Two Illinois track and field members will take flight out to Albuquerque, N.M. for the NCAA Indoor Championships on Fri.-Sat. March 10-11. Senior Olivia Howell will compete in the women's mile while senior Tyler Sudduth will compete in the men's weight throw. All events will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats can be accessed here.

Howell qualified for the mile this year with a time of 4:33.77 that she ran at the Meyo Invitational (Feb. 3-4). Her time will give her the number 15 seed, the top-16 qualify. This time came very close to breaking her own school record that she holds with a 4:33.75. She will line up for the semifinals on Friday, March 10 at 5 p.m. CT. If her time is within the top-8 she will advance to the finals on Saturday, March 11 at 5 p.m. CT

Sudduth qualified for the weight throw with a 22.69m (74-5 1/2) toss that was also set at the Meyo Invitational (Feb. 3-4). He will hold the number 5 seed and will be favored to advance to the finals. This mark bumped him up to second all-time in the Illinois record book.
