SUNSET, S.C. – The Illinois women's golf team continued action at the Clemson Invitational on Saturday (March 26) and sit in sixth place through 36 holes at the at the par 72, 6,386-yard Reserve at Lake Keowee golf course. The Illini turned in a second-round team score of 310 (+22) for a two-round total of 602 (+26) heading into Sunday's final round.
Junior Siyan Chen leads the Illini individually and is tied for seventh with a three-over par total of 147 after posting a four-over 76 on the day.
Freshman Lexanne Halama and sophomore Isabel Sy are tied at 24th with a 36-hole total of 151 (+7), with Halama posting the low round of the day for the Illini with a two-over 74, while Sy struggled with a nine-over 81 in her second round.
Seniors Kornkamol Sukaree and Crystal Wang each posted an eight-over 80 on Saturday, with Sukaree tied for 48th with a two-round total of 155 (+11) and Wang one stroke of her pace in a tie for 56th with a 36-hole total of 156 (+12).
Rounding out the Illini was freshman Alise Knudson, playing as an individual and posted a 94 (+22) on the day and owns a 174 (+30) total through two rounds.
Kentucky leads the tournament through two rounds with a 593 (+17), with Florida's Annabell Fuller and Michigan State's Brooke Biermann pacing the individual leaderboard at 143 (-1).
The Illini wrap up play at the Clemson Invitational with the third and final round on Sunday (March 27) with tee times between 7:30-8:24 a.m. CT off of holes one and 10. Fans can follow along with live scoring via Golfstat.com.
