Megan Heuser | SO., Women's Tennis | Major: Interdisciplinary Health
Megan Heuser had a strong showing for the Illini women's tennis team at the ITA Midwest Regionals, Oct. 20-25 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Heuser and her playing partner Kate Duong concluded Illinois' action at the event with a win in the doubles finals. In all, the Illini duo racked up five of Illinois' 15 wins across regional play. Individually, Heuser also posted an opening round win and a win in the Round of 32, claiming a victory over No. 82-ranked Julia Andreach of Notre Dame.
Duong and Heuser became the first Illini tandem to earn a spot in the regional championship since Melissa Kopinski and Rachael White won the 2012 event. A decade earlier, Jennifer McGaffigan and Cynthya Goulet became the first Illinois women's doubles team to win a regional title. The 2022, 2012 and 2002 duos are the only Illini to win regional doubles championships in program history.
Heuser is a sophomore from Lindenhurst, Ill., studying interdisciplinary health.
