Hope Breslin | SR, Soccer | Major: Speech and Hearing Science

Breslin had quite the opening weekend for the Illini soccer program, scoring a team-leading four goals in Illinois' two victories over Missouri and Illinois State. The fifth-year midfielder scored her first goal just over 8 minutes into the second half at Missouri last Thursday night, extending the Illini lead to 3-0, en route to a 4-0 victory for the Orange & Blue. Breslin followed this performance up with a three-goal performance against the Redbirds Sunday night. The hat trick was the first by an Illini since Janelle Flaws scored a trio at Saint Louis in 2015. Overall, Breslin led the Illini in points (eight) and goals (four) on opening weekend. 

For her efforts, Breslin was also named the Top Drawer Soccer Player of the Week. Breslin is no stranger to performing at a high level. In 62 games played for the Illini, including 58 starts, she has racked up up 15 goals, nine assists, and 39 points. 

The Massapequa, N.Y., native is currently working towards her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science.
