STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Illinois women's track wrapped up day one of Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Friday, contesting the 200m, 400m hurdles and 10,000m races, as well as the pole vault competition. The meet continues tomorrow, beginning with the heptathlon at 8:30 a.m. central time, with a stream on BTN2Go beginning at 12:20 p.m.
Junior Janile Rogers led the Illini with the top performance of the day, a 24.18 time in the 200m. Sade Hargrove also ran well for the Orange and Blue, as the sophomore clocked a personal-best time of 24.25. The time improves upon her 24.29 performance at the Weems Baskin Invite earlier this season.
Amanda Fox added a season-best 10,000m time to conclude Friday's action, timing 37:18.75.
The Fighting Illini will continue competition at Big Ten Championships on Saturday beginning at 12:20 p.m. central time with the long jump, while track prelims and finals begin at 3:15 p.m. Highlighting tomorrow's action will be All-American high jumper Kandie Bloch-Jones at 1:15 p.m. and 100m hurdlers Pedrya Seymour and Jayla Stewart, ranked second and third in the Big Ten entering the meet, at 4:15 p.m.
