PORTLAND, ORE. – Pedrya Seymour stepped outside of team competition Friday night to compete for her native country, Bahamas, at IAAF World Indoor Championships. The Illini red-shirt sophomore finished her 60m hurdles heat in 8.15, a new personal-best time and the 11th-best in the field.Â
Seymour, from Nassau, Bahamas, qualified for the team with strong performances to end the indoor season, highlighted by her 8.16 time at Big Ten Championships to place third. Last weekend, Seymour competed at NCAA Championships and ran a 8.19 time in the event, placing 13th in the nation.
