Meet Preview
After opening the outdoor season last weekend in sunny Tempe, Arizona, the Fighting Illini women's track and field team heads to Nashville, Tennessee this weekend for Vanderbilt's Black & Gold Invitational. Competition begins on Friday, March 27 at 4 p.m. ET, and resumes on Saturday, March 28 at 10 a.m. ET.

A Look At This Weekend's Competition
Missouri is the only ranked team in the field at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational. The Tigers are ranked 15th in the USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field Team Computer Rankings' preseason poll. Other teams competing in Nashville include Austin Peay, Belmont , Bradley, Fisk, IUPUI, Kentucky Wesleyan, Lincoln Memorial, Lipscomb, Ohio Wesleyan, SE Missouri, SIU-Edwardsville, St. Louis, Tennessee-Martin, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Travecca Nazarene, Trine and host Vanderbilt.
Last Weekend's Meet
The Fighting Illini women's track and field team opened the outdoor portion of its season at the Baldy Castillo Invitational. Illinois grabbed 14 top-10 finishes en route to scoring 50 points. The Orange and Blue finished tied for sixth in the ten-team field. Nicole Choquette and Stephanie Richartz were named Big Ten Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances.
Up Next
The Fighting Illini will travel to Charleston, Illinois for the EIU Big Blue Classic next weekend. Competition begins on Friday, April 3 and continues through Saturday, April 4.
