Friday Sea Ray Relays Results

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Illinois women's track and field team began competition at the Sea Ray Relays on Friday, posting three second-place finishes at the Tom Black Track. Senior Tamika Robinson timed 13.39 in the 100m hurdles, junior Ashley clocked a mark of 54.15 in the 400m and sophomore Kawanna Brooks bounded to a mark of 40-3 ½ (12.28m) in the triple jump, as each grabbed the runner-up spot.

In the 3,000m, Illinois placed five distance runners among the top-8 finishers, led by senior Elizabeth Boyle, who was the top collegian at 10:05.65. Sophomore Courtney Yaeger (10:09.14) and freshman Meghan Frigo (10:11.42) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Sophomore Stephanie Morgan was fourth in the 1,500m at 4:25.97 while senior Chantelle Groenewoud came in eighth at 4:30.43.

In the high jump, junior Kendall McCaugherty matched a personal best by clearing a height of 5-8 ¾ (1.75m) and took third.

The meet will conclude on Saturday with the relay competition on the track along with two field events for the Illini, including the long jump and javelin. Full results and a recap following the competition can be found on fightingillini.com. A full list of Illini results are listed below.
