Jeremy Busch finished his 10th season as Head Football Athletic Trainer at the University of Illinois in 2024. He is responsible for managing all the healthcare needs of the Illinois football team. Busch supervises a staff of four certified and licensed athletic trainers with the Illini football team.
In addition to his work for the Illini, Busch was named the Executive Chair of the Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine (ICSM) in May 2024.
Previously, Busch served as the head football athletic trainer for Texas Tech University in 2014. He spent the previous two years at the University of Nebraska, as the assistant football athletic trainer/rehabilitation coordinator assisting with year-round preventive care, immediate care for injured student-athletes at practice and games, and reconditioning of injured athletes.
Prior to his stint at Nebraska, Busch was the assistant athletic trainer at Colorado State University from 2006-12 with the football program. He spent 2005 working for Indiana University as an intern assistant football athletic trainer and was an athletic training intern for the Minnesota Vikings.
Busch was a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the University of Minnesota football program and worked as an undergraduate at the University of Iowa with its football and men’s basketball programs.
Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Busch graduated from Iowa with a bachelor’s degree of science in athletic training in 2002. He graduated from Minnesota with a master’s degree in sports management in 2005.
Jeremy is married to the former Peggy Manning, and the couple has twins, Emma and Landon.
