COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Illinois men's and women's cross country teams finished the Gans Creek Classic on Friday (Sept. 25). Frank Buchanan ran the program's third-fastest 8k in his 27th-place finish (23:25.9) while Mireya Bugeja clocked the program's ninth-fastest 6k in her 32nd-place finish (20:23.6).

The men's team overall finished in ninth place out of 30 teams with 269 points. Adam Patel was the next Illini man to finish in 47th place on a time of 23:49.5 and his teammate Pol Molins finished directly behind in 48th place (23:49.8).

The women's squad finished 11th out of 29 teams with 323 points. Kennady Anderson finished in 47th place (20:40.5) to be the second Illini to finish while Abbi Steiner rounded out the top-3 women in 59th place (20:47.1).

The Orange and Blue cross country crews resume action on Friday (Oct. 16) for Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. as the final race of the regular season.
