CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois men's and women's track and field teams finished the fourth-annual Gary Wieneke Memorial on Saturday (May 2) from Demirjian Park. Katharina Graman etched her name in the long jump program record book during her win today with the fifth-best mark at 6.39m (20-11 3/4), Gator Young recorded the program's seventh-best pole vault at 5.34m (17-6 1/4) in his event win and Trey Sato ran the program's eighth-fastest 1500m (3:42.18) in his win.
Jonathan Kapitolnik made his home Illinois debut and won the high jump equaling his season-best jump of 2.15m (7-0 1/2) and Kennedy Ocansey finished in second place also on his season-best jump of 2.10m (6-10 3/4). Emma Haeggblom claimed gold in the high jump, 1.80m (5-10 3/4), and her teammate Siun Quinn earned silver, 1.75m (5-8 3/4).
Reece Ihenacho won the discus, 54.70m (179-5), Jackson Gilbert broke the tape in the 400m (46.29) and Luuk Pelkmans won the long jump, 7.42m (24-4 1/4). The decathlon 4x400m crew of Tim Pelkmans, Andreas Hantson, Jip de Greef and L. Pelkmans won on a time of 3:12.44
In the evening distance carnival Kennady Anderson topped the podium in the 1500m (4:22.00), Adam Patel won the 5000m (14:26.04) and Jackson Barrett placed second (14:41.68).

The Orange and Blue track and field crews are back in action next Friday (May 8) for the final regular season meet of the season, the Illini Tune-Up in Demirjian Park.
