GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Illinois men's and women's track and field teams finished the first day of the Florida Relays on Friday (April 3) from James G. Pressly Stadium. Seven Illini recorded top-10 program marks in their outdoor season openers.
Jane Roosimagi made her outdoor debut in the Orange and Blue and didn't waste any time etching her name in the program record book. She threw the school's second-furthest javelin in her sixth-place finish today at 49.98m (164-0). Only Lisa Balagtas' program record of 51.58m (169-3) was further set in 1989.
Jordan Koskondy placed third in the hammer throw on the program's third-best toss, 66.38m (217-9), while her teammate Oluwatomilayo Akintunde placed eighth and is now seventh in the program record book, 59.75m (196-0).
Romi Tamir made her outdoor long jump debut today where she finished as the silver medalist on the program's sixth-best jump, 6.34m (20-9 3/4). Pol Molins placed sixth in the 1500m on the school's seventh-fastest time (3:41.03).
Anastasia Retsa and Landry Allen each cleared the school's 10th-best pole vault mark today at 3.90m (12-9 1/2). The women's 4x100m relay team of Meagan Humphries, Sophia Beckmon, Elizabeth Ndudi, and Katharina Graman qualified to tomorrow's finals on a time of 44.45.

The Orange and Blue track and field crews return to action tomorrow (April 4) for the final day of the Florida Relays. Field events begin at 8 a.m. and track events start at 11 a.m. CT.
