CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 1 women's and No. 16 men's track and field teams finished the Illini Last Chance meet on Friday (Feb. 20) from the UI Armory to close out the indoor regular season. Pole vaulters Cade DeWitt and Landry Allen each set new top-10 program marks during today's action.
DeWitt placed second with the program's fifth-best clearance, 5.45m (17-10 1-2), and Allen cleared the school's ninth-best mark, 4.00m (13-1 1/2), in her fifth-place finish.
Oluwatomilayo Akintunde took home the event crown today in both the weight throw and shot put as she threw 21.85m (71-8 1/4) and 15.82m (51-11), respectively. Javaris Ambrose won the men's weight throw with his 18.79m (61-7 3/4) toss.

The Orange and Blue track and field crews are back in action next week for the Big Ten Indoor Championships in Indianapolis from Feb. 26-28.
