Kyprianou Releases Illinois Track and Field 2026-27 Signing Class

NEWS

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois director of track, field and cross country Petros Kyprianou announced 12 additions to his track and field teams for the 2026-27 season. Two men and 10 women will don the Orange and Blue for the first time next season.

MEN'S RECRUITS

Joshua Mungin // Middle Distance // Erskine, Scotland // Park Mains HS
Mungin is the youngest ever Scottish Men's 800m Champion. He has won three UK Championships and five Scottish Championships in the U17/U20 category at 800m and 1500m. His personal bests are 1:48.63 for the 800m and 3:49.16 for the 1500m.

Charalampos Alivizatos // Jumps // Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece // 2nd General High School of Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece
Alivizatos finished as the 2025 U18 Greek Champion in high jump, the runner-up in the U20 Greek Championships, and ninth in the U20 European Championships. His personal best is 2.15m for high jump.

WOMEN'S RECRUITS

Kim Beard // Throws // Seattle, Wash. // King's Schools HS
Beard makes her way to Champaign from Seattle where she is the 2025 Nike Outdoor Nationals Champion in the hammer throw and the 2025 WIAA State Champion in the discus.

Ewomazino Edet // Sprints // Acworth, Ga. // Etowah HS
Edet was the 2025 USATF 100m Junior Olympic Champion and a finalist at Nike Outdoor Nationals. She finished her junior season with two top-five finishes in the 100 and 200 in the Georgia State Championship. Edet holds personal bests of 11.52 in the 100m and 23.38 in the 200m.

Kate Foltz // Distance // Tuscola, Ill. // Tuscola HS
Foltz is staying home in Illinois where she was a bronze medalist at the 2025 IHSA State Championships in the 3200m.

Terrell McCoy // Throws // Nassua, Bahamas // The Bolles School
McCoy placed second in shot put at the FHSAA State T&F Championships and fifth in discus. She has personal bests of 13.05m in shot put and 45.15m in discus.

Tierany Neighbors // Pole Vault // Mineloa, Texas // Mineola HS
Neighbors is the reigning TX UIL 3A State Champion in pole vault and holds a personal best of 4.27m (14'0"). 

Yman Ossie Tchiengue // Jumps // France
Ossie Tchiengue comes to Champaign from France where in 2025 she was a bronze medalist in the high jump at the European U18 Championships. She increased her personal best to 1.84m (6-0 1/4) last year as well.

Meg Peterson // Middle Distance // Arlington Heights, Ill. // Prospect HS
Peterson ran a personal best 2:11.55 in the 800m, placing her fourth at the 2025 IHSA State Championships. She also helped her team's 4x800 take home the win for the second year in a row.

Elise Schroeder // Pole Vault // Hartland, Wis. // Arrowhead HS
Schroeder won the WIAA State Championship for pole vault, as well as helped her team's 4x100 finish second. Her personal best of 4.18m (13- 8 1/2) catapulted her to win at Nike Outdoor Nationals.

Kamryn Tatum // Sprints // West Bloomfield, Mich. // West Bloomfield HS
Tatum is a rising sprint star out of the state of Michigan where she was a five-time MHSAA State Champion. She won the 100m and 400m one time and is a three-time 200m state champion. She own's personal bests of 11.66 in the 100m, 23.55 in the 200m and 53.50 in the 400m.

Justine Wilson // Sprints // Lakewood, Calif. // Rosary Academy
Wilson finished her junior year by placing fifth in the 200m at the CIF State Track and Field Championships. Over the course of her high school career, Wilson was a 16-time USATF All-American. In 2024, she was named Orange County athlete of the year.
