CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – For the second-straight season, the Fighting Illini women's gymnastics squad had 17 student-athletes earn Scholastic All-America honors from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA), the organization announced on Monday. The Illini's 17 honorees were the most in the Big Ten, with student-athletes needing at least a 3.5 GPA to be eligible for the academic accolades. Â
Overall, 1,218 women's gymnasts from collegiate programs across the country received the honor, the highest number ever recorded (since 2008, when WCGA began to collect the data). This year, Illinois ranked 38th in the nation for team GPA (3.6668), with 73.91% of the Illini's 2024-25 roster collecting the national academic recognition.
Chloe Cho was the lone Illini to post a perfect 4.0 GPA during the 2024-2025 academic year.Â
