HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. – Fighting Illini women's golf ended the second day of the 2025 Big Ten Women's Golf Championship in third at 2-over (578), today at Bulle Rock Golf Course.
The Orange and Blue will enter tomorrow's final round five strokes behind leaders Michigan State (-3, 573).
Victoria Zheng moved into a tie for first after firing a second round 71 (-1). Zheng shot even-par (36) on the front before turning in a 35 (-1) on the back, ending the round with a birdie on No. 18. Her 26 total pars through the first 36 holes of play are tied for fourth-most among the field.
Lexanne Halama and Anna Ritter are tied for 17th after they each posted a round of 73 (+1). Halama went 36 (E) on the front before a 37 (+1) on the back, whereas Ritter rebounded from a front nine 37 (+1) with a 36 (E) on the back. Ritter, along with Zheng, has also amassed 26 total pars over the two days, which is tied for fourth-most among all individuals.
Yurang Li is tied for 30th after recording a 75 (+3) and Brielle Mapanao is tied for 75th after her round of 80 (+8).
Zheng is tied with Oregon's Kiara Romano, ranked as the No. 5 player in the country, and Michigan State's Brooke Biermann, ranked No. 24 nationally, atop of the individual leaderboard.
The Fighting Illini will be back in action tomorrow morning, teeing off on No. 1, starting at 8:40 a.m. CT.
