Box Score ANN ARBOR, Mich. – In the Illinois women's tennis team's first match in Ann Arbor since 2022, the Illini suffered a 4-0 loss at No. 3 Michigan from the Varsity Tennis Center.
Following its seventh match vs. a top-25 ranked team this season, No. 48 Illinois owns an 8-10 on the season and 3-4 in Big Ten action. The Wolverines improved to 14-3 overall and 7-0 in Big Ten play.
After a hard fought doubles slate, No. 3 Michigan got on the scoreboard first. At No. 3 doubles, Illinois' tandem of McKenna Schaefbauer and Kasia Treiber earned a 6-2 win. The Illini duo picked up three breaks en route to their 12th win when working together this season. Schaefbauer and Treiber improved to 5-1 in Big Ten play with the win from Ann Arbor.
Michigan would claim the next three decisions as well, at No. 6, 2, and 4, respectively and take the match 4-0.
