OCALA, Fla. – The Illinois swim team wrapped up their season at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships on Saturday (March 15). Stoll shattered her own 100 IM school record in her fourth-place finish of the A finals (55.01).
"I want to start off by saying how proud I am of these ladies and they are amazing women," said head coach Jeana Kempe. "I'm proud of how they compete and represent our program both in and out of the pool. Not just the ladies who made the trip to Florida, but the team as a whole. Over the past three years at CSCAA's we have placed 10th, eighth and now seventh. Each meet has been deeper and faster with new teams joining the invitational.'
'I cannot begin to say enough about our seven seniors: Suvana Baskar, Laurel Bludgen, Paloma Canos Cervera, Logan Kuehne, Sydney Stoll, Jane Umhofer and Molly Yetter. They did everything we asked and helped get the program to where we are today. It's a testament to the building of this program and I'm excited for future years to come." Â
Chloe Diner swam her way to second in the 100 IM program record book on a time of 55.32. Both Diner and Stoll were a part of the 400 freestyle relay team that ended the season by swimming the program's sixth-fastest time (3:21.82) in their eighth place finish: Molly Yetter, Isabella Wilhelm, Diner, Stoll.
Liv Dorshorst placed 11th in the 1650 freestyle (16:46.32) with a 1000 split time of 10:10.49. The team took seventh place out of 47 teams with 379 points.Â
