CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—Illinois swimmers Liv Dorshorst, Taylor Judas and Emma Schumacher will travel to Sarasota, Florida, to compete in the CSCAA Open Water Championship on Saturday, December 13.
The women's 5k race will begin at 9:30 AM CT inside Nathan Benderson Park and the top five finishers will earn invites to the USA Swimming 5k Open Water Championships. Qualifying criteria for women were 5:10.00 in the 500 free, 10:30.00 in the 1000 free, 18:00.00 in the 1650 free, or 1:09.00 in the 5k distance.
Dorshorst made the trip to Miami, Florida, for the same event in 2024, alongside Adelaide Reaser and Paloma Canos Cervera (2021-25). Dorshorst finished the race in 1:09:51.31, helping the Illini place tenth out of 19 teams.
