ROSEMONT, Ill. – Illinois senior swimmer Sydney Stoll was named the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week the conference announced on Wednesday (Jan. 22). She's the first Illinois Big Ten Swimmer of the Week since Abigail Cabush on Oct. 23, 2019.
Stoll's highlight of this past weekend's competition was breaking her own 100 butterfly school record in her win against Nebraska (53.97). This wasn't her only win, she won every individual event she swam in this weekend including the 100 freestyle (49.86) and 200 freestyle (1:47.54) against Nebraska and the 100 freestyle (50.81), 100 butterfly (54.92) and 100 backstroke (55.09) against Iowa. Additionally, she was part of the winning 400 medley relay that clocked the program's 10th-fastest time (3:43.07) at Iowa.
