CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois women's gymnastics is set to compete in the afternoon session of the Big Ten Championships at the Jenison Field House on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT in East Lansing, Mich., and will compete against Iowa, Penn State, Nebraska and Rutgers.  

Scouting Report

Iowa is coming off a 196.525 third-place performance at the Kidney Care Women's Gymnastics Championship in Nashville, Tenn., on March 16. The Hawkeyes competed against No. 18 Georgia (197.450), Maryland (196.725), Pittsburgh (195.925) and Talladega (192.500). Karina Muñoz had a successful meet, taking second place on vault (9.900), second place on bars (9.925), tied for second on beam (9.925) and second in all-around (39.575). 

Nebraska just lost to No. 12 Arkansas (198.100-197.375) in its first dual meet since Feb. 17, when the Cornhuskers defeated No. 24 Penn State (196.500-196.400) at home. Emma Spence was the only event winner at Arkansas, taking the all-around title (39.650).

The Nittany Lions and the Scarlet Knights are coming off a quad meet against George Washington and No. 25 Towson. Penn State won the meet (196.875) followed by Rutgers (196.825), host George Washington (196.600) and Towson (196.575). Rutgers' Emily Leese won vault (9.925) with fellow Scarlet Knight Avery Balser taking bars (9.950). Penn State's Amani Herring won beam (9.925) and floor (9.950). Her teammate, Ava Piedrahita, took the all-around title (39.375).
