Sophomore guard Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn scored a career-high 21 points and made a career-best four 3-pointers on Nov. 4, leading the Illinois men's basketball team to a dominant 112-67 win over Eastern Illinois in its 2024-25 season opener. Gibbs-Lawhorn tallied the Fighting Illini's final 10 points of the first half, equaling his career-best scoring output prior to halftime before eventually clinching a new career-high point total after the break.
A sophomore majoring in recreation, sport, and tourism, Gibbs-Lawhorn also went 7-for-8 from the free-throw line in the 45-point Illinois victory.
