CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Director of Illinois track, field and cross country Petros Kyprianou announced the signing of Oliwia Belczew on Wednesday (Nov 27). She's set to join the Orange and Blue for the beginning of the 2026 track and field season.
Belczew hails from Leszczyny, Poland and as a junior in high school holds personal best of 2:06.93 in the 800m and 4:31.38 in the 1500m. She most recently won her regional cross country championships on Saturday (Nov. 16). Her 2:06.93 personal best would rank her inside the top-5 800m runners if she was from the United States.
