CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Big Ten Network will debut its documentary "A House of Brick: 100 Years of Memorial Stadium" on Monday at 9:30 p.m. CT. The 30-minute documentary narrated by Illinois alum Ryan Baker chronicles the creation and 100-year life of Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of Illinois.Â
Illinois is hosting a year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium's dedication. Memorial Stadium's Dedication Game famously occurred against Michigan on Oct. 18, 1924, when Illini legend Red Grange gained national headlines after scoring four touchdowns in the first 12 minutes to take down the previously undefeated Wolverines. Saturday's game against Michigan, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS, will take place 100 years and one day after Grange's historic performance.Â
Illinois has announced detailed plans for the Rededication weekend, set for Thursday, Oct. 17-Saturday, Oct. 19. To view the complete schedule of Memorial Stadium Rededication plans, click here.Â
Illinois is also honoring the history of Memorial Stadium with a number of elements on game days during the season. Highlights include a free pop-up museum in the Great West Hall, the Memorial Stadium 100th Anniversary logo painted on the 25-yard lines, and seven commemorative cups sold at concessions matching the eras celebrated by the Illini helmets for each game.
Saturday's game against Michigan is sold out. Fans still looking to purchase tickets for the Illinois-Michigan matchup are reminded to visit SeatGeek.com, the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of Illinois Athletics.
