CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois 2003 men's tennis team will be honored Saturday, during the Toledo vs. Illinois football game at Memorial Stadium, in recognition of the 20th anniversary of program's run to the national championship.
The 2003 Fighting Illini completed the coveted Triple Crown, winning the NCAA Team title, while also securing both singles and doubles championships, a feat no program has achieved since. Illinois finished its perfect season 32-0 after a 4-3 win over Vanderbilt in the national title match.
Several members of the national team and staff are scheduled to attend, highlighted by NCAA Singles Champion Amer Delic and one half of the NCAA Doubles Championship team, Brian Wilson. Other attendees will include: Conner Murnighan, Pramod Dabir, Michael Calkins, Bruce Berque, Jan Glosser, Phil Stolt, Evan Zeder, Ryan Skendzel, Chris Martin, Troy Hatton, Karen Lehl-Morse, and one of the most legendary coaches in Illinois history, Craig Tiley.
