Kate Duong and and Megan Heuser, the No. 15-ranked doubles tandem in the country, helped lead the Fighting Illini women's tennis program to a pair of road wins last weekend at Rutgers (5-0) and at Maryland (4-3).  

At Rutgers on Friday, Duong and Heuser set the tone early with a 6-3 win at the No. 1 doubles position. Heuser also earned a singles point for the Illini, defeating RU's Amira Badawi (6-1, 6-4). Duong led (6-0, 6-5) when her match vs. Jackie Lopez was stopped after the Illini clinched the victory. 

Sunday at Maryland, Duong and Heuser once again won at No. 1 doubles for the Illini, defeating the Terrapins team of Mary Brumfield and Minorka Miranda, 6-2. The win was key to the Illini securing the doubles point in the team's come-from-behind victory. 

The duo has now won 14 straight decisions and is up to a 23-3 overall record, 14-1 dual mark and 6-0 reading in Big Ten play.

Duong is a junior from Cupertino, Calif, studying accountancy. Heuser, a sophomore from Lindenhurst, Ill., is studying interdisciplinary health sciences.
