WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Illinois swim and dive team completed their midseason tournament, the Boilermaker Invite, on Saturday, Nov. 18. The Illini finished third with 497 points. Junior Paloma Canos Cervera etched her name into the 1650 freestyle record book; she placed third in the finals tonight with the program's sixth fastest time, 16:47.10.
BETWEEN THE LANES
Sophomore Sara Jass placed fourth in the 200 breaststroke finals (2:14.96) and sophomore Alexis Wendel finished sixth in the 200 butterfly finals (2:02.37).
Junior Suvana Baskar shaved over three seconds off of her previous 200 backstroke personal-best (2:00.32). Baskar and junior Sydney Stoll both tied for 11th place in the finals
The 400 freestyle relay team of senior Lily Olson, junior Logan Kuehne, Stoll and senior Laurel Bludgen finished out the midseason tournament with a sixth-place finish (3:24.39).
Freshman Kalina Nikolaeva (2:02.31) and senior Paige Koscielski (2:05.45) set new personal-best marks in the 200 backstroke. Senior Lauren Beard recorded a new best time in the 1650 freestyle finals (17:14.80) and freshman Martina Cibulkova touched a new best time in the 100 freestyle (51.76).
ON THE BOARDS
A freshmen duo made their Illini debuts in the platform dive finals today; Bethany Mercer scored 181.40 points to place ninth and Elle Crisostomo scored 160.65 to place 12th.

The Illinois swimming and diving squad is back in action tomorrow, Nov. 19 for the Purdue long course time trials beginning at 9 a.m. CT.
