AUGUSTA, Ga. – Illinois women's golf senior Crystal Wang wrapped up play at the prestigious Augusta National Women's Amateur on Friday (April 1) at the Champions Retreat Golf Club. Wang finished in 68th place with a 14-over total of 158.
Wang opened the tournament with an 82 (+10) in Wednesday's first round, before delays due to inclement weather paused the start of Thursday's second round until late afternoon. The senior was through 10 holes when the second round was suspended on Thursday night. She finished the second round with a four-over 76 on Friday morning.
The field was cut to the top 30 golfers for Saturday's final 18 holes at Augusta National Golf Club. Despite not making the cut, Wang and the entire field will play at Augusta for an official practice round on Friday.
Sweden's Beatrice Wallin, the fifth-ranked amateur in the world and the United States' Latanna Stone, 41st in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, lead the tournament with an even-par total of 144 through two rounds.
