CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Fighting Illini Track and Field team will host the Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Friday-Sunday May 14-16 for the first time since 2008. Events will begin at 11:00 a.m on Friday with the decathlon 100 m and conclude with the women's 10,000 m set to begin at 8:15 p.m. On Saturday, events will resume at 11:30 a.m. with the decathlon 110 m hurdles and wrap up at 7:00 p.m. with the women's 3000 m steeplechase. The final day will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday with the women's discus and conclude with the women's 4x400 m relay at 3:45 p.m.

Know the Field
The 2020 Big Ten Outdoor Track Championships were canceled due to COVID-19. The reigning champions from 2019 in the men's division are the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Ohio State Buckeyes for the women's. In February at the Indoor Championships, Iowa also took home the gold in the men's division while the Minnesota Gophers were victorious in the women's championship.
The Illini men placed ninth at the indoor championships while the women placed 11th. At the 2019 outdoor championships, Illinois' men placed 12th while the women finished in 13th. Heat sheets are set to be released later this week.
