MAINEVILLE, Ohio — The Illinois women's golf team had its best scoring day of the Big Ten Championships on Sunday, totaling a 9-over 297 to finish in ninth place at TPC River's Bend. Tristyn Nowlin was Illinois' top golfer with a 22nd-place finish at +5.
Nowlin had rounds of 74-73-74 to total 221 and finish one stroke ahead of teammate Isabel Sy, who tied for 24th at +6. Sy posted rounds of 73-74-75.
Crystal Wang finished tied for 36th at +9 overall after an even par 72 on Sunday, the Illini's best round of the tournament. Ali Morallos and Sarah Hauenstein each tied for 63rd at +18.
The NCAA Regional selections will be announced Wednesday live on GOLF Channel at 1 p.m. CT.
Saturday's Recap

Sarah Hauenstein also totaled a 74 on Day 2 to move up to 56th place, where fellow Illini Crystal Wang also sits.
Michigan State and Maryland are tied at the top with teams scores of -9. Tee times for the final day of the 2021 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships begin at 8 a.m. ET/7 a.m. CT on Sunday.
Friday's Recap
Illinois freshman Isabel Sy was the top-scoring Illini in the first round of the Big Ten Championships, shooting a 1-over 73 to sit in a tie for 17th place. Illinois is in 10th place as a team after 18 holes with a score of 299 (+11).
Sy got off to a hot start with birdies on two of the first four holes. She was -1 on the front and +2 two on the back in the tournament's opening round.
Tristyn Nowlin birdied three of the final 10 holes to climb to +2 and sit in 24th place, while Crystal Wang is one stroke back of Nowlin at +3 to be in a tie for 32nd. Reena Sulkar and Ali Morallos tied for the last scoring spot for the Illini at +5 and Sarah Hauenstein carded a +7.
Michigan State leads the team competition with a 2-under 286. The Spartans' Leila Raines holds sole possession of first place at -3.
