CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The Illinois women's golf team is in Sunset, S.C., this weekend for the 54-hole Clemson Invitational from Friday-Sunday. The Reserve at Lake Keowee will host the event at its 6,471-yard layout.
The event will have a unique setup with all five Illini players in one group. The Illini are set to tee off the shotgun start Friday morning on the third hole.
Illinois is coming off an 11th-place finish at the Briar's Creek Invitational from March 15-16. Crystal Wang and Tristyn Nowlin both finished in the event's top 10 at +4 for the tournament. Wang (#73) and Nowlin (#145) both represent the Illini in Golfstat's rankings of the top 150 individual women's golfers in the nation.
The Clemson Invitational is Illinois' fourth of five regular season tournaments. The Illini travel to Bloomington, Indiana, for the Indiana Invitational from April 17-18 before the Big Ten Championships at TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio, from April 23-25. Nowlin is scheduled to play as an individual in the Augusta National Women's Amateur March 31-April 3 at Champions Retreat (Rounds 1-2) and Augusta National (Round 3).
