PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The University of Illinois diving team finished the final day of competition at the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday, as freshman Erin Young competed in the only event of the day, the platform dive.
As the only diver competing on last day of the invitational, Young secured fifth place after a scoring a 171.60 in the platform dive.

Crosby, Young Record Season-Bests on Second Day of Rutgers Invitational
Final day of competition wraps up Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. CT
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Sophomore Madelyn Crosby and freshman Erin Young each set season-bests on the second day of competition at the Rutgers Invitational Friday evening at the Rutgers Aquatic Center. Crosby, sophomore Taylor Shegos and Young competed in the three-meter dive, the only event of the day.
In the finals of the event, Crosby recorded a score of 248.55, while Young totaled a 228.35 to place ninth and 10th, respectively. Shegos had a six-dive total of 245.95 to finish in eighth place overall.
During the preliminaries, Shegos scored a 269.55 to sit atop the leaderboard. Crosby took ninth with a score of 216.95, and Young came away with 10th, scoring a 213.05.
Action will continue Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Rutgers Invitational with the platform dive.
Shegos Sets Personal-Best at First Day of Rutgers Invite
The invitational continues Friday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. CT
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Illinois diving team completed the first day of diving events at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway this afternoon at the Rutgers Aquatic Center. Sophomores Madelyn Crosby and Taylor Shegos, and freshman Erin Young all competed in the one-meter dive as Shegos set a personal-best in the lone event of the day.
The Illini trio first competed in the preliminaries, diving their way into the finals of the one-meter. Shegos secured first place during the preliminaries with a personal-best score of 301.35. Crosby followed with a score of 224.80 to finish in ninth place, while Young took 13th totaling 209.60.
In the finals of the event, Shegos placed third with a six-dive total of 251.20 in the "A" finals. Crosby (247.35) and Young (206.70) finished in ninth and 13th place overall, respectively, after both competing in the "B" finals.
Action will continue Friday, Dec. 6 at the Rutgers Invitational with the three-meter dive.
